1000 mile service & clutch
I am going to get what I need for the 1000 mile service on the Bob this afternoon and do it myself. My dealer's service department has not impressed me with installing simple addons and when addressed I am told that it's the motorco's design... ok...
My question is the clutch adjustment. I really like where the clutch is at right now for the friction zone etc... and my buddy who works on a few told me not to adjust it if I like where its at right now. Any comments on this??? Other then that it looks like I'll be wrenching tonight and test riding for a trip to Skyline on Saturday. Woot!

I wouldn't adjust it either but I'd check the adjustment for a baseline reference. Check that the cable adjustment is within spec and then check the clutch when you've got the derby cover off to refill the primary. Back off the nut and turn in the center allen screw counting the turns (less than one). Then back the screw out to where you found it and lock the nut down. Write it down in your manual so you can duplicate this adjustment setting in the future.
