On our Dyna's the shocks are actually in front of the bag. They don't come in to play.

We're using detachable backrest hardware. That's the first set of hardware on the bolt. The second set of hardware is the Easy Bracket hardware. Then there's the added width of the Easy Bracket itself... etc.



All that adds together to create what you see on Joe's bike and here on mine:

ahh man Wyde i totally forgot to flip them before making my template!!! ha ha ah ooh well looks like i can do that real fast tonight and get them tucked in that 1/2 in closer and then go from there!

 

If only we could reverse the hardware -- put the Edge Bracket hardware on the inside and the backrest hardware on the outside -- that would help a LOT!

I though tit might be possible but with the lock in the way on the rear of the bracket we can't remove enough material to provide access to the docking hardware.

 

could always rigid mount the back rest then they would be closer in.
