Default Leaking primary

I am working on a 05 Super Glide, and I can't seem to get the primary to stop leaking. I have replaced all the seals and gaskets but it still leaks. Seems to be around the the trans. This will be the 3rd time I have had it apart. The only thing I can think of are the bolts that go through the inner cover to the trans. I did locktight them, but I notice there is nothing but the locking washer on the inside. Any ideas? Thanks.

it is possible that the seal on the trans mainshaft is leaking.
you did the shift shaft?
you're supposed to use new bolts and lock tabs when doing the inner.
did you put the inner primary bearing seal in the right way?

Yeah, I'm thinking IPB seal as well...also did you put a bead of silicone sealant on the backside mating surfaces of the inner primary... supposed to according to my service manual.

I hated that problem ... my solution: drain the primary permanently ...

I never had the inner primary off, so was mystified as to what was causing my leak ... seemed to be two really slow leaks one that dripped onto my jiffy stand and a little weeping at the seam right above the drain plug ....

inner PB, crush gaskets, did you replace the self sealing bolts when you had it off?, what about the shifter shaft gasket?

You might also check to see if the bolts are too long, this was a problem on the shovels back in the day. Stick a piece of wire down in the bolt holes to get a measurement and compare this to the bolt lengths. If it's close I would take a 1/16" off to see if you can suck the primary up tighter.

Default tape shaft when installing inner primary

It sounds like the seal was damaged when the inner primary was installed. Install new inner seal and sealing bolts and tape the shaft as to not scrape the seal up when sliding on the inner primary

Thanks a lot for the info, I replaced all the seals and gaskets but I used the same bolts and didn't see about using silicone. It seems like it could be the inner primary seal but I also think it could be one of the bolts. I used locktite on the bolts thinking that would do it. Looks like I will take it apart again, hopefully I can see where it is comming from then. Thanks for all the help.
