Default '10 WG Death Wobble.....

Hey folks,

Im in need of some advice from the Dyna owners. I have my '10 wide gilde, and since doing my mini apes, and most recently adding a flyscreen, have been getting a what seems to be, progressively worse "death wobble" about 65mph and up. It never happens 2 up, it never happens under 65, and it seems to decrease if I really lean back and pull back hard on the bars. It seems to worsen if I slouch, especially if I have my legs fully extended with my heels on the forwards. I have been expermenting before posting as to try to find the solution, but it seems worse everyday. It honestly seemed to start as soon as I added the flyscreen, as stupid as that may sound. Bad enough recently that a buddy riding behind me, at the next stop as like "what the hell is wrong with your bike?!"

Help guys!!

Thanks
jaison

The steering head may be loose. My 2010 SG came that way. Check tire air pressure also.

Check steering head adjuster (this is probably it), front spokes, front wheel for trueness. Tire pressure. Swingarm bolts. Wheel alignment (very important).

Correctly check what's called "fall-away" and pump alot of grease in the neck b4 u do. If ur 10 dose not have zertcert drill and tap I did for my 03 and a couple shots once in a while saves neck bearing maintenance. No reason in 107 years ur bike should wobble like that unless u lower the rear, broke a shock or FU the frnt end reguardless type of hndl bars or windscreen #ridesafe

I'm glad you posted this. My WG does the same over 75 since putting apes on. Unless riding 2 up. I just put in the poly isolators, they seem to help a bit. I just keep the speed down till I can find a remedy. I've talked to several people about it but no real answers as to why or how to fix the issue. I kinda think its a riders position issue. I've noticed, when it starts the wobble, if I push on the bars, or loosen the left hand from the grip it helps.

Scratch that start with the tire pressure that's most likely IT if not refer 2 my rambling previous post ... c this is why I never answer this stuff I look like an a** suggesting u start drilling on ur new bike. That being said it is under warranty so u shouldn't do anything other then take it to them and let them put it right, which u wont have 2 do after u put about 36 - 40 lbs of nitrogen in that tire... look in 2 it ridesafe

+1 on the dealer.
don't go nuts with the grease.
I would deff have them do a steering head adjust and
also prob check and re-balance front wheel.
I've seen ALOT of dynas lately with horrible balancing jobs on wheels
and they're using sticky weights from the factory on spoke wheels now.
It's possible they flew off while riding.
I use spoke wheel weights on spoke wheels.
they'll never come off.

I have the same problem with my 10 WG and clip on screen, but I have stock handle bars. Same thing riding 2 up you don't get the shakes. Checked my pressure right away, and it was where it was supposed to be. I am planning on stopping at the dealer this weekend to have them check it out.
