Now thats a funny post...LOL... made for racing??? Racing shocks are not stiff! Progressive shocks are designed for profit only! They use cheap internals, are terribly oversprung to make up for it too... Ride a racing shock like an Ohlin, the ride is sublime, the shock keeps the tire in contact with the road and you practically never feel any bumps... Ricor and Works shocks work well in this regard too. A racing shock has loads of adjustment parameters to allow the ride to be dialed in perfect for the rider and track conditions. You can not run a shock with only preload adjustment on a racetrack. You were warned that the 440's rode like crap, and could have bought Works for the same money, entry level Ohlins are about the same price too.

OP.... toss the progressives and ride a good shock... for an 11" or 11.5" shock get Works black tracker, or Ricor! The shocks are a million times better than a 412. Yeas they cost more, they are 100% worth it unless you like being bounced around like you stated.
