I was freakin incensed by this reply! Wide Glides, the "black sheep"?
Then Todd redeemed himself with this: "Now if you want a bike that blows them all away when it comes to looks and attitude, then you might as well lay down the cash right now for the Wide Glide"
Okay, it's kinda cool being a black sheep!

If you're interested in the handling characteristics of the dynas, the wide glide is the last bike you should rent. The DWG is the black sheep of the dyna line...it has a more raked front end and mini apes which will definitely affect handling. To get a good idea for comparison between handling of dynas vs. softails, any other dyna would be a better bike to ride. I don't think it's about which is the better ride, but more a case of what kind of ride you are looking for. If you want a slightly softer ride and are a less aggressive rider, then buy the softy. If you are looking for a decent ride and like to go after the twisties sometimes, then go for the Dyna. I personally like a bike I can throw around so I bought the Street Bob. I also liked the looks of it. To each his own, that's why they don't just make one model. [sm=biker2.gif]

The Lowrider is definately the best handling bike in the whole Harley Davidson line up,they have a great center of gravity and if you like to corner on those twistys as I'm sure most riders do than this is the bike to get. It handles so well that it's easy to get carried away and scrape the pipes though. I find that softails tend to have too much hop in the curves and draw you out towards the shoulder sometimes. Change the duel pipes to two into 1 Vance and Hines and you have a superb handling machine without risking scraping.
