Hello, I'm a new guy

Welcome and congrats on your measured approach to getting back in the saddle. Too many folks who haven't ridden since they had a mini or dirt bike umptyump years ago hit their 40s or 50s and suddenly decide they're ready to jump on a bike and ride. Taking the riders course is always my first recommendation (and no longer an option here in FL).
Lived in the Atlanta area from 84-96. Stay off the Perimeter International Speedway (aka I-285) until you really have confidence in your riding skills! Them thar folks is plum crazy!

I like to ride in the back of the pack. You can see who you want to stay away from. Always figure nobody sees you because for the most part they ain't looking where they're going anyway. Learn how to stop. Your rider course should cover stopping in an emergancy and every now and then I like to practice hard stops. Don't wait till somebody hangs a left in front of you to practice an emergancy stop. Wecome back to riding and have fun. OH YEH, I see a lot of riders tail gating using one hand and looking to the left or right. Don't do dat.
