Ready to Order Wild 1 Chubby Apes but need some Cable advice.
I have decided to order Wild 1 Chubby Apes in either 14' or 16'. Longhair has been nice enough to answer a bunch of my questions. I hate to keep asking him so let me ask here. I have a 2010 Wide Glide and I need to get stainless steel cables the proper length and the wiring extension the proper length. I think plus 6 or 10 inch cable length has been suggested and I really don't know on the wiring extension. I would like to not break the bank on the cables and wiring extensions. My other thing is I'm really on the fence on weather to get 14' or 16' Chubby's. I'm 5'7 with a 34 inch sleeve length if anyone has a recommendation. Thanks again.

wow that's a long reach.
have you ridden a bike with apes that big?
slow speed cornering is non-existant.
I would say 14" and the best way to measure for cables is to mount the bars
and then measure them while they're on the bike.
It's the way I've always done it. and it usually comes out the best.
I extend the wires long enough so I have extra, cut it to length and
then re-pin everything. Its looks factory when I'm done.
It's more time comsuming because you have to order cables and lines if the dealer doesn't have them in stock but you end up with the best result.
I have a 38" reach and I would think 18's would be too much for me.
I have 15" apes on my fatty and they're perfect.

Well if you go with the 16's then you should need 39.5" throttle and idle, atleast a 74" clutch but I think if you can find a 75" that would be better, and a 54" brake line. Not sure on the wire extension. I purchased my setup ready to bolt on from HCCC. I am also 5'7" and love the way the 16's feel. Here's a larger pic of my sig pic to give you a general idea of how the 16's fit someone that is 5'7". Also I am using 1 1/2" risers.
