RE: kickstand spring
Dude, why the negative attitude. Sounds like you have had some problems, hopefully they will be the last, but if you keep thinking about bad things happening to you, then it will! I changed my kickstand recently and did kinda notice that it wouldn't take a lot for those springs to just come out loose.

you say negative attitude.well i guess maybe it is because this bike is nowheres in quality made like the 96 was with over 100k miles put on that with very few problems.especially when you know the problems i have had with it or nor even mechanical.just saying this will be my last new hd i know.next bike would be a old evo again.something has to give when hd goes from shooting 100k bikes a yr to over 300k plus and it is in there quality.

RE: kickstand spring
As far as the recall on transmission that didnt really bother me.It is the cracked fender cracked front heat shield loose headlight bucket shell that gets me up in arms especially when dealer has never heard of them issues and acts like its your fault.I looked today on the kickstand yeah I can see where there isnt much of a nub to keep the spring on it soI prepared myself with a ziptie in saddlebag for the day it decides to fall down

Mine fell within 1,000 miles at 65 mph. The service dept said the rubber bumper had slid too far forward allowing the kick stand to flop around and come off the spring (the spring was still attached to the frame). They moved it back and reattached the spring. Over 9,000 miles now and no problem. I do check the bumper placement every so often, hasn't moved.
