I have a 96 lowrider, last year I toasted the speedo , then the bike shut down. I replaced ecm , ignition module, and the speedo. every thing seemed ok I put on another 700mi then stored it for winter. This year on my first long ride I lost my tach, bike still was running good, got about 50 more miles in and the speedo puked ,made another 10 miles bike died. any body got advice?? I need help with this electical stuff.

 

Hey man, I can't help you with electrics, but I can tell you that you might have better luck with help down in the EVO section. Seems like many of the riders in here are on the newer dynas and don't seem to have much experience with the evos.

Start looking at all the electrical connections, concentrate on battery, starter and corrosion in the electrical plugs. I had a '99 1200XLH sporty that had some of the same symptoms. The cable to the starter had actually corroded inside the insulation about a half inch from the connector at the starter.
