Put another piece of chrome over it? Like a medallion, heat shield, or something.

 

Try windex, Don't laugh I asked a lot of crhome people and thats what they reccommend. that and the wd - 40 used it myself.

 

Ive used windex, it works pretty good. I did the same thing to my pipes, still haven't found anything to bring it out. Its not really noticeable but like you I know its there.

 

I did the exact same thing, with the exact same Never Dull wadding. It made the chrome hazey looking. I used this paste I found at the local bike shop. It's called Simichrome Polish. I would say it buffed out 95% of the haze that was there. It didn't get all of it out, but I can barely see where I origninally boogered the chrome up.
