Default cam help?

ok, i got my stage 1 complete on the bike. been kicking around the idea of some cams. Whats ya'lls take on the idea? Good... bad... Is it worth the investment for the power gains? if so, what company did you go with. I have the 88tc. any thought or ideas would be great.

Thanks,
D

IMO the 37 is a great cam. It will give you some nice gains on a stock engine. If you decide later to bump the compression and have some headwork, you can hit 100hp with it. Mine did 100hp and 107tq with headwork and 9.8:1 compression.

I did andrews T26 gear drive. Combined with the RSD intake, fatcat, and 4deg advance on my timing slope ... bike want's to pull itself right out from under me. The 37s pull later like around 3K+ rpm. to me a bike that gets on the cam at 3K+ kinda feels like a turbo car. Pulls too late. I much prefer the right now torque, so I chose andrews T-26.

I would go with a 21 before advancing a 26 4*but that's just me. My 37's pull fine from bottom to top, It isn't like I'm on a bagger.

I advanced the ignition timing slope not the gear. when it was just a stage1 I had it 2deg. advanced. messed with it this weekend and found it would advance to 4 deg.(max on my twin tech ignition module) with no detonation problems. Really brought the bike to life surprisingly enough.

Oops, I'm so used to seeing the 4* advanced gear that got by me. I had my T-Max timing advanced and it helped a good bit, they're set kinda safe from the factory.
