Sounds about right depending on how fast you are or aren't and also if you're changing cables or not. If you're mechanically inclined there is nothing "hard" about it. Just time consuming.

 

I think it's funny, so many people calling these "SOA" bikes. Maybe the reference is a clue to how long they've been riding? 'Cos lotsa of the more hardcore patch holders have been setting up their bikes like that for years.

Not my taste, personally, but neither is it my ride. I'm into a much more relaxed, "old school" kinda vibe & love my apes. 'Sides, that's the beauty of a Hawg- the perfect blank canvas, that each rider can set up for their needs/taste.

 

It took me more than that, but I was doing it first time and also drilling handlebars. Disconnecting terminals and internal wiring is PITA, I guess gets easier with every try

 

Yeah i would be getting the ones with the holes drilled on it already, i am just scared i am going to mess things up, it's a lot of wiring and such!

I have 10" WCTB on a 07 FXDB but this weekend swapping them out for 14"

 

Just take it slow and watch a lots of videos - you'll be fine. Drilling and terminals was the hardest for me, since yours are drilled - makes it easier. De-pining was a bit frustrating, at one point I though I'll need new connector - but was fine after all. and yes, I swapped cables - which turned out to be pretty easy (didn't do clutch cable though)

 

Did you just buy new or they have some kind of buy back program?

 

Just bought new ones, also bought cables.

 

Did you buy new cables or you used stock?

 

I had to buy new cables for Iron. For FXDB it's stock up to 13" I believe
