The right side muffler is so strong that when it is connected, it becomes the third point of contact. The crossunder is supported by a stock FLHT crossunder support bracket. The mufflers are connected to the bracket from underneath. I've put a few hundred miles on it and it seems everything will be just fine.
This is AWESOME to say the least. Maybe you can post some pics of it on the bike so we can see it in action. How long did it take you to fab this braket up? Would you be willing to make MORE? From what I understand this will allow someone to run duels without the bags, correct? <---that is what I want to achieve.

I made it in one day(but about a month of daydreaming). It has nothing to do with the saddlebags nor the full rear fender so neither are required. The left muffler will actually stay in position just by itself but the bracket is needed to keep it from whipping around and eventually tearing itself apart.
I will try to get a few more pictures of it mounted and post them up.

Here it is installed. It pretty much disappears. The transmission bash plate is still the lowest point on the bike.

That is awesome! What is the possibility of getting one of those? and what exhaust system are you running for that bracket?

2009 touring exhaust, cut, bent and stretched. I posted the design incase it is helpful to other forum members. Sorry, but I really don't have time to build any more. Believe it or not, the economy in North Dakota is so intense we are all too tired to take on anything else.

AFMM3, that is a truly outstanding job. Kudos for a great design, and thinking.....way out of the box. Its a shame you can't make them because properly marketed, I would suspect the demand would be very high. Certainly with the success of the switchback, some one some where will come up with his own design or at least steal yours.

Did a little more to the dual exhaust today. I decided to add one more stiffener for the left muffler. Threaded rod inside a polished aluminum tube connecting right muffler to the left behind the wheel. The left muffler used to have a little extra whip at certain RPMs and this totally got rid of it. Since I was putting muffler clamps on, thought I might as well add fishtail tips too.
