Default Feedback on High Output Headlamp Bulb

Any have the Harley High Output Headlamp Bulb P/N: 67074-02 ?

If so do you need to change anything or can you just replace the bulb?

Do you find the new headlight that much better or was it not worth the hassle?

My experience with these type of bulbs (on my car) was that it produced a whiter and brighter light ONLY when looking at the headlight, but did not produce a brighter light path, so I went with a aftermarket HID system on my car. That in mind, I would not waste my money on this bulb. Just my .02 cents.

So what's a boy to do? My only real complaint about my SB is that the headlight SUCKS. I have to ride with the High beams on all the time unless I'm in town or in traffic. What's the best way to get some more light out there in front of you?

Did you try adjusting your headlight?
A lot of em are pointing far too low.

You could use a Silverstar or something, but it doesn't really light better, it just seems like it does because its whiter than standard bulbs.

Kuryakyn has a plug in HID kit that is self contained. It runs $529 though. Clicky Here

Be careful of putting in higher wattage bulbs because they can melt your harness, especially the plug on the lamp.

Go to an autoparts store and get a Sylvania Silverstar size H4, it will plug right in and it is the same wattage as the original. I used to run with the high beam on all the time too, now I hardly ever use it, even at night.

Does this High Output Headlamp bulb that HD sells require you to change the lamp kit? Or will it plug right in and not melt your harness?

They (HID systems) actually put out less wattage than regular bulbs, but produce brighter light. I would love to install an HID kit, but as you can see, very expensive.

I put a PIAA in mine a couple of weeks ago... It would probaly make a difference, if I got rid of that damn diffuser in the light... All I get is a big halo around the sides, front isn't that much brighter.. Has anyone cut the diffuser out..? I haven't cut mine because, I think it acts as a heat shield...

Try contacting Daniel Stern Lighting for a better bulb/reflector combination. A good bulb is of little use if it is placed in a reflector that can't take full advantage of it. Change over to a better reflector and you'll see a huge improvement and not have to worry about too much heat, fried wiring, etc.
