I burned out the stock bulb on my 05 FXDI at 18,000 miles and replaced it with the high output buld from HD. There is a huge difference in intensity, especially when compared side by side to my buddy's 06 FXDBI.

So is it plug and play? No changing of the housing or anything?

RE: Feedback on High Output Headlamp Bulb
I have a 90watt low 100 watt high, bulb and reciently discovered that the heat melted the connector, the wire is fine though. I broke off what was left of the connector and just put the metal connectors straight to the headlight and the low beam flickering on and of is gone now.

If it was hot enough to fry your headlight connector are you going to gamble it won’t melt the wires ?
I also was in that boat, the 100w cook right through the connector I put on a 3 prong auto connector got a zeon (I think) at a HD dealer it’s fine.
What might be more important than higher wattage bulb is the cut (faceted) in your headlight lens, the way they are design makes all the difference in the pattern of light that hits the road.
I remember years back my shovel had a sealed beam, I couldn't see crap ! so I found this m/c mag that did a night test w/approx. 15 headlight companies, all used the same legal H4 bulbs but the difference between them was mind blowing, I pick the CIBI one, had the most “reach” great overall pattern, a bit cut off on the right (over taking cars) so why did I put in a 100w, more trips in deer country and a touch of stupidity I guess.

It's a bright blue color and i can see way better then with the stock one. I've been running this bulb for 4 months and about 4-5,000 miles, and it hadn't been a problem. The plastic had melted into the connector and caused a bad connection but thats all fixed. Since to wire hasn't fryed by now, i figure i'm good to go.
