Default Chrome Battery Cover Band SGC

How do you remove the original chrome battery cover band that says SuperGlide from the battery cover. It's on a 2010 SuperGlide Custom. Bought a chrome battery cover and would like to put the chrome SuperGlide band on the cover. I have a chrome band for it but prefer the one that says SuperGlide. Looks like it will fit but its riveted on the black cover. Don't know if I should drill it out or grind it off. Maybe I could drill and tap it to secure it to the new cover if the metal not too hard. Any ideas on doing it. Thanks.

Its stuck on with 3m tape, the prongs that go through the cover are just used to line it up on the chrome covers.

the band itself is attached to a bracket with sticky 2 sided tape. The bracket is attached to the battery cover by two little grommets that are pushed through two holes in the battery cover. The easiest way to take it off is to just squeez the grommet tips togehter and push them back through the holes in the battery cover. Then the whole thing (band and bracket) comes right off. If you need to get the band off the bracket you need to peel it off the sticky tape....... for this use a heat gun/hairdryer to heat it up and it should peel right off
