I prefer the FXD over the custom...it is more basic, meaner, leaner..and I want the cast wheels..not spokes. I don't need chrome. Everybody is going to mod the bike anyway. This is my 2010...and I am happy. I am putting some new bars on it next to increase the pullback.

If true, it kinda makes sense from a "Dyna Family" choice. The Super Glide and Super Glide Custom are so similar it makes sense to drop the basic version. I could see this lineup:

Super Glide Custom
Street Bob
Low Rider
Fat Bob
Wide Glide

All 5 have distictive personalities. The SG and SGC were too similar (if they were adding to the Dyna family in 2011 [low rider, super glide sport something]).

Yes, the SG has a low price-point and is a blank canvas for your mods.....but I understand if they make this move. Plus, they can bring it back in 2 years.

And I get the 1200 Custom removal too. Same thing as above. The 1200 Low is a carbon copy of it's sister. One had to go.

I'd be shocked to see the Softail Custom go though. But hey, it will generate a ton of interest when it comes back.

 

Not in 2009. My Super Glide Custom is a FXDC.

No, I'm not wrong, and you should really learn WTH you're talking about if you're going to call someone out. If your 05 is fuel injected it's designation most certainly is FXDCI, because in 2005 the Super Glide Custom was available with carbs and it's model designation was FXDC, and it was available with fuel injection as the FXDCI.

However, by 2007 H-D dropped the I off their model designations because all the bikes were fuel injected and there was no longer a need to distinguish between bikes with carbs and bikes with fuel injection. So now, and for the last three years (2007 through 2010) the Super Glide Custom has been designated the FXDC, with no I on the end.

I explained this earlier, if you had actually bothered to pull your head out and pay attention to what I was saying.

I really hope this doesn't come true. Although I like the show and can't wait for another season to see what happens, I really don't like the looks of 1/4 fairings on bikes.
