Default Reach seat vs Stripper seat

I am finally going to buy my Dyna, but as I´m 5.5" I probably will have to either lower the bike or change the seat. If I were to change the seat what do you suggest. I am leaning towards the stripper seat as it makes it look awesome and I think the height issue will be address, but still any inputs will help onmy decision.

thanks.

I have never sat on the stripper seat. But I do not think that it would be good for you because of the way it shapes to the fender there is no support to keep you from sliding backwards. I have an 07 SB and with the solo seat on I felt there was not enough to keep me forward, adding the passenger seat helped alot. I now have a low rider seat and it is just fine. I am 5'7"

Talk to the guys at Mean City Cycles for a refoam job. Had a reach seat but the comfort wasn't there, half an hour and the cheeks were numb. Sent my stock solo to mean City. They lowered, moved me forward, added back support at rear, and added new foam. All this for about a hundred plus shipping. I can ride allday now without gettin skunk a**.

Hi, I'm from Italy and I ride a 2010 Street Bob. I'm 5.5 as well and I have just
got a Super reduced reach seat today. It puts me a bit closer to handelbars and pedals, with my arms correctly bent...I love riding with it, it's worth it.

You don't mention foot position. I'm just 5'6" myself and see no need for a 'reach' seat if you have mid position controls (and if you're short and have or want forwards, that just makes no sense to me). There are those who argue fwd vs. mid, but IMO, it's all about individual leg length and hip/knee bend angles, along with seat height and arm/handlebar position. So, speaking for myself, I have a Dyna because they offer mids as an option for my size, plus, I have shorter shocks and a low profile seat, a LePera Silhouette Deluxe, allowing me to stand flat footed...
