Its welded in, youd have to cut it out and replace it with a section of pipe. If you cut it close to where the head and rear pipes merge together (weld seam) U will miss the converter and should be able to weld it back together easily if needed. The DMV in my area is pretty lax they dont even require cats yet on bikes, but im sure sooner or later they will. I cut mine up just to see what was inside of it!

Great pipe mod. Hope it sound a good as it looks when your done. That little sporty bobber is pretty sweet too, nice work.

Wow, being that close it'd be tough to miss. Something about old shovelheads I guess!

Why go thru all the work just pickup a non cat head pipe from a older Fat Bob on Ebay or in the classified section.....
