Default Accel's new SLM Fuel Module

Have been running Cobra's FI2000 on my 2008 FXDL
It crapped out after the controller got water in it from the bike being washed. It had worked really well but not sure I want to try it again.
Been looking at the new Accel SLM Fuel Module. Have seen many opinions on this and it seams most are positive. I only have after market exhaust and plan on something for a high flow air breather in the near future.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I went to their web site and checked it out . It seems very vague to me . No adjustment with it at all . No model specification , not motor choice , cam choice , exhaust type , etc . Just hook it up and ride ? Hard to believe . Maybe it works fine . But maybe it doesn't . To me , it seems to good to be true . I say buy something that's proven .

Looked at it too & didn't like the "no ajdustment" factor either. Went w/Dobeck TFI & couldn't be more pleased. Can tune my EFI to allow for every performance UG & at 1/2 the cost. Do some more searching before taking the plunge...Cheers!

Went with it for the reason of it being simple, so far so good got a whole exhaust system comming so I'll see how it handles that. Worked good with air cleaner and slip ons, my understanding is it will only handle bolt in cams and such nothing real radical which for some will not work I believe it was made for the majority of ridders who just do stage one and maybee a mild cam upgrade.

I have had the SLM for about a month now. My bike has never run better. It does run at factory calibrations in the closed loop, so it does run alittle hotter. I get mid to high 40s for gas mileage. I have no dead spots when I get on the throttle. I opened it up a couple of weeks ago and got to 110. Due to traffic I had to slow down, but I had plenty of throttle left. There is hardly any decel pop, compared to when I had a PCIII.

I am considering this system for my FLHTCU. It is a piggyback system which basically fools the ECM into providing a richer mixture under load. This system has a connection to the CPS and can also vary timing which most systems in this price range don't do. I'm guessing that at cruising speeds it will shoot for the magic 14.7 AFR but when you acclerate will provide more fuel and more advance. The ECM will still be able to retard timing if detonation is detected so at least in theory it sounds good. I like the Fi2000 for the fact that it adjusts similar to a carburetor (something I can tweak to my hearts content) but it lacks the ability to overide the ignition timing set by the ECM. I have seen a number of positive reviews on the SLM so I may give it a shot myself. Also worth a look is the TTS system. It is close in price to the SLM and actually reprograms the ECM as opposed to piggybacking. If you're old school like me and still use a desktop computer, you will have to invest in a laptop to do your datalogging and programming.
