Value: Low Rider vs. Super Glide Custom?
#11
The Low rider and the Super Glide Custom both have mid controls.
The Low rider comes with highway pegs (black plate) and the SGC does not. The SGC has threaded holes filled with plastic knock-out plugs to mount highway pegs.
Just finished mounting the stock '07 FXDL highway pegs to my '10 FXDC.

Low Rider came with a two-tone paint job with color and black (or some variation) ... I don't think the Custom comes with that option ... of course you're kind of stuck with whatever color combo they have at the dealership ....
Both great bikes, but might come down to seeing which dealership will make a better deal ....
Seems like the market is picking up ... the local dealerships seem to be moving a lot of bikes through the showrooms (of course, 'tis the season) ....

The bars are different also; the Low Rider bars were much more comfortable for me. I also preferred the rims vs. Laced wheels. I Prefer mids with highway bars too. I also wanted the tach, and I like having the control lights higher for better view. The blacked out engine was a huge plus for me. The seat is also different, which I found to be more comfortable, and also better for the passenger (my daughter can attest for that.) I considered going with the SGC and adding the Low Rider components and it would've cost much more than the Low Rider MSRP. I got my 2009 Low Rider for $1,000 below MSRP so it was a no-brainer for me. I could not be any happier with my Low Rider, especially after this past winter's mods. And since they are no longer produced, it's now a classic. Now nobody can go buy my bike, which makes it more unique, in my mind.

I went with the Lowrider in 05, SGC has some nice features like switch on tank etc, I also believe the lowrider has a little more chrome. Fit and function both dynas are awsome rides, I was after a Standard super glide (black) ended up with the lowrider due to deal salesman offered, 06s were hitting the street with new front end and all. Good luck with your decision
