Got this off another board. Guy had always compared other polishes to Maguiar's. But he had found a better Maguiar's to use on black.
Meguiar's Medallion brand cleaner polish and then Meguiar's Hi Tech Yellow Wax.

Mequires makes good mass produced **** but best available? Not even close. Tropicare or zaino are some of the best though.

Zaino is over rated for the price , been there done that years ago , beside i don't need wax anymore !

for swirls just don't use any cloth to apply/remove the wax... use foam only!!! wax is wax use a small slow orbital to apply and remove using foam pads you won't have any swirls...

Bike (Vivid Black) is 4 years old and pristine with the exception of some swirls and light scratches on my tank that were driving me nuts.

I had been using Mequires Scratch X and saw a new product at Wally-World - Meguires Scratch X 2.0.

Did some web research and found a couple car boards where the posters swore by the 2.0.

Posters said 2.O was better than the original version.

The tips they provided were:

- plan to use multiple applications

- use some elbow grease

- rather than keep rubbing for an extended period of time, add more product then rub some more.

Well it works GREAT!!!

Took off all the swirls and fine scratches after 4 applications.

BTW I called Meguires HOTLINE and they confirmed that the above method was recommended by Meguires

I just finished it off with a coat of paste wax and I'm very pleased with the results and how the tank looks.
