About the only way would be to bend the arm on the float in the tank.

Default Honda got it

HD could learn something from checking out my Honda lawnmover. I unscrew the gas cap and look in and you can see all the way to the bottom of the tank....it is very comforting to know you've got enough gas in there to finish the lawn. Yeah, low tech, but it works.

Yeah man, I have the same problem. Never fails that at 95-100 miles my gas light comes on. The tank lift screws the gauge up pretty bad, but as it has been said before, just strap a 2 gallon gas can to it, run it to empty and you'll know how far you can go on a tank. I did and now I have alot better idea about when I need to fill up.
