I use GRIPLOCK and let it set for 24 hrs. You can also wrap some tape ( I like cloth tape ) around the handlebar to give the glue something to adhere to. No promises on how easy the grip may be to remove in the future.

Thanks guys but I can't take credit. It's an old trick I learned from a graybeard. Here's another - to remove glued on grips pry the end up a bit and dribble some regular white vinegar down between the grip and bar. I stuck a wooded kabob skewer down there to help the vinegar get down faster. No time at all and the grip just slipped right off.

Default Grips

Clean the bars with something like brake clean or alcohol before starting.

I didn't use anything on the HD chrome and rubber grips. The switch housings hold it on firm.

Been doing that for thirty years or so. Works good, and doesn't damage the grips when taking them off. Cheap, and effective!

I've seen some people use clear spray paint sprayed inside the grip and then jammed on quickly before it started to tack up.
