Hi guys i am going to fit a pair of Carlini Flyin Apes on my Fat Bob 16" ones however i am a little concerned about bar slippage as i understand they have no knurling on the bars and i am going to fit them in my stock risers.I was thinkig i could drill the risers and the bars and fit roll pins (Stupid Idea Or Not)
Has anybody had an issue with them slipping as i am a Ape Hanger Virgin
Carlini risers come with set screws to keep the bars from slipping. Just make sure you specify you need the risers with the set screws.
Yeh but i want to use my stock risers on 1 .25" bars that reduce down to 1" for the stock risers.
So do they have a habit of slipping with the stock risers?

Get a 1 piece top clamp and helicoil the riser bolts on the risers and you should be fine. Make sure to use poly bushings too. The 1.5" bars are usually 1.5" all the way down and are not offered in the stepped variety, at least from Carlini. The 1.25" bars are offered stepped or 1.25" all the way down.
my bars ar not knurled, I have half pieces of copper tubing around the bars under the risers, they are soft enough to squeeze down and get some grip, you could also mill down the risers so they down touch
You could take a sharp center punch and hammer and mark up the area of the bars where the clamps will be grabbing. I have actually had to do that before and it worked out great.
my bars never slipped with the factory risers, they are not knurled. I just put a little red lock tite top and bottom then cranked the risers down. Even when I layed my bike down the bars took all the hit and they didnt move. now I have slugger risers and they are solid!!!

Thats how I do my bars. A thin piece of rubber between the bottom riser and bars helps also.
