Default correct idle for 00 lowrider

I just tuned the carb on my lowrider and I'm wondering what the correct idle is. It seems to idle between 1000 and 1100 rpm's is this ok?

If your '00 is the same as my '02, the book says 950 - 1050 rpm.

The lower it idles the better it sounds, but the lower it idles, the less oil pressure you have. Especially when its hot. I try to set mine right at 1000 when fully warmed up.

potato......potato......potato...... isn't that the way it should sound with those carbed bikes? Meaning of course can't you let those carbed bikes idle where you want them? Because all us guys with the fuel injected bikes would just about kill to get that sound. The FI bikes all run 950 to 1050 and the cadence kinda fluctuates but no potato.
I'm just asking btw-- not trying to give advice I know nothing about.
