Question Stage 1 or 2 air filter

I have an air filter that is not stock.I'm sure it is either a stage 1 or stage 2 but how do I tell the difference? I ride a 2000 FXD that is caburated.H ow do I tell if the filter I have is reusable and can be cleaned and re-oiled? Thanks GMH

A higher flow air filter with fuel tuning and more open pipes brings you to stage 1... not the type of air filter. Stage 2 only comes when you change out the cams.
If you look at the K&N Filters on their website it should give you a good idea of what a cleanable air filter looks like. If yours looks like cotton fiber/paper it's probably not cleanable. There is recent thread talking about open A/Cs so you can look at those too.
The type of filter makes a big difference on the tuning on your carb, so choose wisely.

Is there a Brand or Model #? If its cloth/foam it's more than likely reusable. it

K&N usually have "K&N" moulded into the outer rubber seal and the filter area will be red as that's the colour of the oil they use. Just cleaned mine and re-oiled it.
