I've been asked if mine's a Nightster (Sportster) and a Night Train (Softtail). I don't care. I tell them, "nope, it's a Dyna". And if they act interested, I pretend to know a lot and tell them all sorts of nonsense. It really baffles those who aren't clear (like I once was) that the Night Train is a Softtail--I assume the tail of the Dyna looks "soft".

I get asked the same question and there is no way my bike looks like a Harley dirt bike. They just don't know. I would spot yours as a Superglide in a heartbeat.

If people don't ride a Harley, they don't know all the models. Probably just know Sporties from Then Came Bronson.
I never had a Harley-Davidson until my Ultra. So I can't identify all the differences in Dyna and Softail and Sporty line. And I don't really need to know, cause I don't care what others ride. As long as they like it, none of my business.
I like your bike though. So you should just appreciate that people like your bike, even though they don't know much about them.

That's part of the appeal of a Harley. It's like a work of art, even if you don't know anything about motorcycles.
Your requiring them to identify your model to like it, is like an art snob saying you can't appreciate a fine painting, without knowing the painter and his history.

I used to have a Street Bob and it happened all the time. One guy actually got belligerent and told me that I didn't know what bike I owned.
