I had a guy tell me a Dyna is nothing but a sportster on steroids! I had to educate him on how much more there is!!!

I have had the same thing happen... Funny thing about it though, was the guy asking was DRIVING A SPORTSTER.

I had a guy say the same thing to me. He was riding a rusted out metric I think it was like 500cc with bags etc. I just laughed. I rode a Sporty for many years and nobody ever said it looked like a Dyna. They don't know the models and only know the big baggers and sporties. I wouldn't take offence to it at all. I like sporties great bikes. I was also asked by an oldtimer is that a Lowrider and I said yes he said Wow!!!
