Default HELP!! Exhaust Mounting question

My Rip saws mount in the rear like Im assuming most exhausts do... three bolts holding the brackets to the bike then two bolts attach the bracket to the pipes. My issue is with the lower of the two bolts that connect the bracket to the pipe. Its a half inch nylon insert nut (from what I can see anyway... that attaches to a flat head bolt that is somewhat "captured" My problem... the nut is loose... I backed it off a bit and dropped a few drops of blue loctite on the threads and went to tighten it back up (it had loosened up before) as I was tightening it up it never snugged tight it just kept turning... it was tight for a few days... now its loose again but my problem is that all the nut does is spin... it does not tighten or loosen... just spins... the bolt is NOT turning... did the loctite screw up the nylon in the nut? Now the question is... how the hell do I get the nut off without screwing up the bolt? I REALLY REALLY dont want to have to take the entire exhaust off... anyone have any magic tips? Thanks!!!

So the nylon is glued to bolt thread?, only outside of nut will spin? maybe melting away nylon with hand torch, or try prying with flat screwdriver while turning nut.

Or just run another nut behind it and leave it in place.

I think it should move the nylon, which is what is holding on to bolt's thread. give it a try.

Sounds like you stripped the bolt and/or nut. Try to wedge a flat screwdriver between the nut and the pipe or bracket while spinning it off. It may just need the pressure to catch a good thread. The nylon will not keep a nut from backing off a bolt with a wrench. The steel bolt and nut are stronger than the nylon. Based on your description it must be stripped.

I would cut off the bolt and buy a new one. Much less stress involved.
