Default Street Bob Side Mount License Plate Holder

I've been thinking of ways to get rid of the "mud flap" stock license plate holder on my '09 Street Bob.

It looks like H-D has come up with a way to get more of my money by offering a decent looking license plate holder to go with the "bob" design.

Has anyone seen this H-D kit? What does fender hole "cover up" medallion look like?

Will it fit on an '09 Street Bob? Anyone have any photos of this installed on a Street Bob?

The local Houston HD stealers know nothing about this kit.

Hmm, pretty cool!

I'd be curious to see what this looks like mounted.
Might be a nice set up.
It isn't cheap in my opinion tho!

Cheers,

Tom

They should have made it in black also.

Absolutely right. The massive amount of chome on that new HD holder is going to emphasize the visual imbalance. I hadn't thought of that.

Another thing is that my '09 Street Bob doesn't seem to have holes in the fender for the license plate bracket. Therefore the included $100 cost for the cover up emblem is money down the crapper. The cover up emblem looks like it doesn't belong on a Street Bob anyhow.

I just made up the part about the $100 for the emblem. It's based on my recent purchase of a F-150 truck and I wanted to swap the stock grille for the HD edition grille. From the Ford dealer:
$300 for stock F-150 grille.
$904 for the HD edition.
Who do they think they are kidding? NO SALE!

I really like my Kury Horizontal sidemount plate. Its got a good mount that connects to the swingarm. I wanted a horizontal plate to stay legal and it was one of the only ones I could find in horizontal that was curved. They also make the same mount with a vertical plate instead.

Road 6 custom. I have the Model A tail light too. Connects to the bolt on the rear axle. Simple and inexpensive.

I would personally have no problem paying for that sidemount license plate holder... if it came in black. It even looks like it can be folded back!? The question I have is, why don't they make these for the FXDF? I always have a hard time finding parts like this that are made for the Fat Bob. As I've said before, when I bought the bike I bought it because of the ride and the look. Ever since then I have done nothing but spend money improving the ride and changing the way it looks!

Seriously though, has anyone seen anything like this for an FXDF in black?
