I just looked through the J&P catalog and came across the spark plug wires page. Some claim to give as much as 15 times better spark than Screaming Eagle wires. Some claim to increase horsepower even.I can understand the need on a race engine but a stock 96 c.i. engine I cant see where this would do any good. These are just my thoughts and cant speak from experience here. Has anyone experimented with other plug wires and noticed any change. I have the Screaming Eagle wires on my 07 street bob and I took them off a few times to put the factory ones back on and havent noticed any difference at all.Any input would be ok

 

I don't have any input, but I've been asking myself the same question. I'm curious to see what kind of answer you get from guys who've upgraded.

plug wires that are 'calibrated' (and I use that term loosely), to provide the proper and matched resistance, and have a premium conductor, and the exact proper amount of insulation, can and do provide increased power/fuel efficiency, but, as you say snoop, hardly noticeable, and worthwhile to nitpick about for daily street use.
guess if ya wanna fork out the $$ for it, and you like the look, yep...
I might switch to a coloured set to dress up my bike, if and when my stock wires are toast, but wouldnt spend the extra cash in hopes of power increase.

 

Yep Dynastorm I love the look also, especially the colored wires, dunno what elsethey could do for me other than looks tho....

I dont know what you guys are talking about, I got atleast 20HP from my red ones LOL

Seriuosly I have no doubt some perform better in tests but it isnt anything thing you are going to feel on your bike.
