Default glass gas tank

dono if it's ever been done, never seen one myself, but what do you guys think about a glass gas tank?

i'm talking aquarium-thick tempered glass.

just throwing this out there, i'm not planning on doing it to my bike or anything, but what do you guys think?

dumb? cool? possible? impossible?

no more worrying about swirl marks, it's just a matter or the glass holding up and not cracking...

It would kinda suck if a rock were thrown by a cage and hit it. IMO, not a good idea at all. It would be cool if the tank were clear, but glass just wouldnt be a good way to go.

If you plan on building a showbike you'll never ride it could probably end up quite cool!

So have one made of acrylic plexi glass.! I think it would be cool as hell, lots of bikes have plastic tanks so what the heck right? Wow what a sick idea for a custom bike just think??? all see through parts instead of tins.

And then you really won't need a fuel guage!!!

Umm, cool idea but I'd try something else besides glass. Of course, you do put some small sight glasses in your tank like someone did with the cam chest cover.

I think it would kick *** on a show bike, I would do a colored glass. But not anything I would ever ride. my luck, I would chip it putting gas in it and it would shatter.
