Default front-end bolt on?

i asked this question on the sporty section and no one had a clue..

i have a 2009 sporty... i just found a complete front-end from a 2010 dyna fxd superglide.
i want to install the dyna front-end on the sporty, is it a bolt-on, or will i have to make a spacer for the neck etc?
thanks

Not sure this will be much help, but, one thing you can do to figure this out is get the parts manual for your Sporty and the 10 Dyna parts manual and start comparing part numbers used. I really do not have any idea, but this is one way I have had success determining what will interchange.
Parts manual, not service manual. You can find them on ebay usually at a decent price.

I hope that works out! if you dont mind, keep me posted! I have an old 82' FXE that I want to do the same thing on.

if it helps, I know that you can fit up any wide glide front end to a sporty with little or no mod at all.

Good luck, and that is a trick idea!

In the old days the answer would be no. Sportsters necks were a different length than FL necks. But now with all the different models????

Find a neck from a similar year dyna...weld that on the bike, then you have a bolt on front end.

well the older dyna had the same 39mm trees as the sporty. I think it will work fine. The new 49mm front has the same neck length and width as my 05 which came with 39mm trees.
