Default I thought this was interesting...

Goes against what the dealer told me about the EFI system.

You get this is you go to Harley's site where the 103 kit is listed, and click on the CAUTION link to the right of the page..

CAUTION: Harley-Davidson EFI systems will not compensate for any component changes. Do not mill heads or increase compression in any way. Do not use cams other than those supplied in the kit. Do not change kit components. Failure to comply may result in engine damage. Dealer installation required - failure to comply may result in a lean fuel condition and severe engine damage.

that'll get some paranoid owners who know nothing about motors/motorcycles to come in and buy all their parts and components from harley and end up with an underpowered, overpriced 103 or 110 screamin eagle build.

not my point.

dropping comparable coin at a reputable motor builder is going to net you bigger numbers.

the only thing the disclaimer that the OP described is meant for is to discourage people from going aftermarket on their engines.

i have no doubt that you and hundreds others love your SE 103 or 110 engines, just there's other ways to go, so of course HD is gonna try to keep people buying their components

That warning is for guys who will do a build and expect the stock EFI map to compensate. It will not. The bike won't grenade unless you go really radical but it will run like total ****. Long term you could burn the valves.

LOL true that! OR dropping 1/2 the coin at an indy builder will net you the same numbers.

You had yours tuned by a professional tuner right? That makes all the difference in the world.

Explain underpowered, and the kits only $599.00 from HD of Chicago.
