My TH is looking pretty bad lately. I wanted to get it rechromed but Im not interested in shipping it off somewhere. I did have a very local chromer (about 2 blocks away) but when I contacted him he said he got out of the business. He only does very small pieces for people he knows now.

Anyway, I did a quick photoshop with a black wrapped TH.

I kind of like it with the black tins now.

What say you?

I think if you keep your tins black it looks killer. Not a fan of wrap though..... can ya do something so they're glossy black to match your paint? Does a shiny black powder coat stand up to those temps?

yes sir...I coated my street fighter headers in high temp black... it is good to about 1500 if not a bit more, but is just like paint till it is brought up to operation temp and fully cures, so you have to handle it with ease till you have it on the bike and your bring it up to temp. only worry i have is i hear that T headers are really hot running pipes. so maybe we could do a mix of wrap and black or something like that... we coat shields all the time wiht reg powder... the high temp we use on headers, have yet to have a problem
the headers are high temp gloss black the pipe is Tuscan flat

Black it out. Keep the sections of chrome heat shields you currently have on it for contrast.
