Dyna Saddlebag Recommendations
#21
I've got the Saddlemen Drifter bags on my Dyna. I also have the ez brackets turn-sig bracket. The bags are rigid mounted, but it only takes you around 10 seconds to remove them via quarter turn locking pins located on the inside wall of the bag. It takes you a few trys to get the hang of putting them back on but once you know how it's a snap. They also feature a shock cutaway so they fit really close to the bike. There are hidden locking quick release buckles underneath the fake metal buckles on the straps. The only thing I don't like is the locks use a little plastic key and sometimes I have a hard time locating the key hole in the dark. Also, the quick release buckles are plastic. It's a pain-in-the-a to lock/unlock all three buckles so I just lock one. If someone wanted to destroy the locked buckle(s) the bags could be stolen pretty easily. I suppose this goes for any bag though. I haven't tested them in the rain yet so I don't know how they'll rate there.
Thanks

Can you show us some pics please? I am interested in the saddleman bags also.

Yes, I'm using the Saddlemen support brackets. The support brackets do not come off along with the bags. If you wanted to take them off, it would take you 5 minutes. Unscrew the bag mounting posts, take off the support bracket and screw the mounting posts back on. The mounting posts look pretty much like quick disconnect sissybar mounts. I've attached some pics (not very clear) you can get an idea of how they look. I'll take some better ones tonight and post tomorrow.

One more ? - which turn signal relo kit did you use? From what I can see the sigs are nice and tight to the plate bracket.
