My last WS I cut out to fit my 7" light that I installed....I need to get a new shield due many scratches, etc...anyway, which one do I get? Do I need the softtail shield for the 7" cutout for the light?

 

You can order a replacement plastic and recut out for the light. you might be able to order a different plastic and keep your mounting hardware I dont know.
they also make a polish for taking the scratches out of headlight plastics, i have used a fine cut cleaner polish to do the same on my headlights, just a thought.

 

I cut two windshields to fit my 7" light, works fine. The mountig hardware from a fatboy shield will not fit on your Dyna just buy a new windshield cut and mount on your exsisting mounting hardware.

Look in the phone book and see if there is a 'Regal Plastics' near you, if so, take your shield (just the shield part) to them and they can duplicate what you have. Mine cost about 67.00 to duplicate in smoke, includiding all the holes. then just put it back on--jack

 

If your interested I would sell this windshield for $120 plus shipping. The sheild is perfect no scratches any where. The metal trim has some stain from smoke when my house caught on fire. It could most likey be rubbed out.

 

Good luck trying to buy a QUICK RELEASE replacement WS only.... without the hardware attached. My QR windshield was gouged and scrated after my old man's bike fell onto mine and his brake lever rubbed and bounced on the shield for 150 miles in the trailer. Mine bike had 5 factory miles on her. It was fresh from the dealership. Long story short, I had to buy a new QR set up...the whole 9 yards. I couldnt believe it either so I researched the crapola out of it. Harley does not offer a Quick Release replacement windshield, without all the hardware for Dyna's.
I ended up opting for the Quick Release Clear Touring WS part 57015-06. I'm not getting the head buffeting like I did when I used the standard WS.
