It's a helluva lot easier to measure the old one and subtract, than try to measure the cable route. Ever replaced a cable?

Here's a link to an instruction video on how to determine correct cable length after having changed bars/risers; it starts at 3:17

Since you do not longer have the initial cable, you could use a garden hose or a piece of metal or electrical wire and route it the way you want to have the new cable on the bike and measure it's length.
