you can measure it with a tape like a tailor or seamstris uses. just make sure you put it back or your wife will get mad at you. then add afew inches.

wish i had a better answer

ummm...Why did you throw it away? Never throw away good parts, someone may be willing to buy it from you if nothing else.
You will just have to measure the route you want it to take now, if no one can answer this for you.

call Johnny at hdbikeparts.com he will fix you up. I had the same scenario with my fatbob and Ultra and his cables were right on the money when I installed them.

hang the measuring seamstress tape on the bike in place of the cable from the location and measure that, i think thats what he meant, and or do a mockup just use some string and hang it in the cable place. Then take it off and measure that, and +1 on add a few inches.

even if you still had the long one, what good would it be?? You will still have to get the tape messure out , so just mesure it and be done.

It's a helluva lot easier to measure the old one and subtract, than try to measure the cable route. Ever replaced a cable?

Here's a link to an instruction video on how to determine correct cable length after having changed bars/risers; it starts at 3:17

http://affiliate.kickapps.com/_Motorcycle-Cable-TOTW-with-Motion-Pro/video/946177/22960.html

Since you do not longer have the initial cable, you could use a garden hose or a piece of metal or electrical wire and route it the way you want to have the new cable on the bike and measure it's length.

Follow the link below and you'll find a H-D clutch cables table:
