Exclamation Street Legal or Pro Race 103" Kits - why the power difference?

I ordered an SE Pro Super Tuner and a 29893-07A SE PRO 103" ST2 RACE KIT for my new WG which I collected on Friday. However, I've just noticed the Invoice states they supplied and fitted the 27566-09 103" ST2 50 STATE KIT. I believe (but I'm not sure) that both these kits use the same engine internals but the 50 State Kit is Street Legal and is supplied with an SE air filter and backplate. This is odd as I supplied the dealer with my existing SE filter and backplate.

However, look at the power/torque output difference between each kit.

Are they each using a different tune via the SE Pro Super Tuner? What else is different about these kits?

I could use some advice here before I go back to the dealer with this issue.

I think the only real difference between the two is the standard 103" kit comes with a stage 1 a/c and slip-ons, while the race kit doesn't. I would guess with the #'s being a little higher with race kit compared to the standard would be because they used the heavy breather along with a performance exhaust. Did you already have this kit installed? If not spend a couple hundred more and get your heads reworked. It will really make a huge improvement.

Yep, head work is next on the list, but before I spend any more I need to be sure of what I've got.

I still don't understand the difference in HP. Maybe the tune is different on each kit? Or maybe the

Mayhaps dealer needs it to be listed as street legal on the invoice since you have a new bike. Did you get charged for the higher priced kit?

The 255 cam is great for the street. Harleys are all about torque and it delivers plenty low down in spades.

Sure, it's a compromise, but one that suits my Harley riding style fine. That's why I have a few other bikes that are not Harleys in my garage

The 255's give plenty of pull down low. I seldom run my bike over 3500rpm.

I wouldn't spend too much on heads if you're running the 255's. A low RPM build doesn't need much porting.
