tank emblem removal

Default tank emblem removal

want to remove my tank emblem. anyone have a good way to get the glue from the emblem off without messing up the paint?

When I removed the rear reflectors, I used WD-40 to take the adhesive off. It worked real good and no damage to the paint.

I used WD-40 on one side and then got some Goo-Gone. I think the Goo-Gone works a little better.

Just my $0.02

I used Goo Gone on my Pewter Denim paint with no problems.

I have a can of 3M adhesive remover. Works excellent.

Another way is to take some fishing line to cut through the adhesive. Keep it against the tank and saw your way through it. I did all of mine that way. It never left a mark on the paint and you can just pick off the little bits that are left. Monofilement line works best. The emblems aren't stuck on as good as you might think.
