Default Don't do what I did....

the other day I started the long process of taking the orange reflectors off my fork tubes. When I got the first one off there was horrid marks on the tube outlining where the reflector was stuck. I asked the question on the forums what I did wrong and what to do. I tried brake clean, laquer thinner, and bought some acetone and nothing worked, the marks were from the hundreds of yards of dental floss I went through. The other tude was completed today with elbow grease, Goof Off and about 3 fingernails and you can't tell where it sat. My recommendations, no floss or fishing line.

Yes. Use the fishing line to "saw" through the adhesive. It took me more than one attempt as I didn't have very heavy line and it kept breaking. Finally works and then use Goo Gone (or equivalent) to remove the residue.

Well there goes my suggestion of dental floss! I haven't tried it personally but a friend suggested it with two pencils. Said it works awesome. I dunno till i try it and certainly won't endorse it till i do!!

If you heat the badges up with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive, dental floss should work too.

I am rebuilding a fallen Marines Sled and if you would like to donate them to the cause when removed it would be huge. Please PM me if interested in helping. Thx, Tripwire
