Default Burning my Jeans ???

I just recently picked up this dyna and it seems to be burning my jeans on longer rides and when I rub on them ... they are just V&H slip ons on stock header pipes with no header all all ... running strait threw !

I have had many bikes in the past and this has never happened to me ... what do you all think may be happening ?

Its a 2006 FXDBI "Street Bob"

Let me see here, the unshielded exhaust header pipe is wrapped with tape to retain heat in the pipe, a person lays (rubs) their leg enclosed with denim on the hot unshielded wrapped pipe and the denim burns. Yep, working as advertised. I don't have the problem on my sheided "stock" header pipes, but if my legs bumps up against the hot shields,. it's not there very long.

What he said . No heat shields on those headers , plus wrap , equals a LOT of heat .

that wrap does not block much heat from your leg. Those things get hot as hell and will still burn you right nicely. Heat shields would do you better but obviously changes the look.

when i was younger i only had to touch the stove once to know it was hot.

i think what may be happening is you're taking a bit long to catch on.
