Hello,

I have just installed the SE Compensator on my 08 SG. In step 8 of the instruction I should be able to rotate the comp sprocket by hand. The sprocket will not rotate by hand. All the springs look like they are in place and so does the Thrust Washer. Has anyone else run onto this?

Step 8:
Rotate the compensating sprocket (4) to make sure there
is a light pressure on the sprocket from the springs. No
clearance should be felt. A slight rotation should be possible by hand with the transmission in neutral.

I did the SE Comp when I installed an Andrews 30T sprocket ('07 FXDB). Of the things I've done to the bike so far, I rate these two parts as the best bang for the buck.

So anyone try just loosening the inner primary bolts a bit to get the rotor off/on instead of grinding. Then just torq them back down, or is that instant death to the inner primary gasket????????

Just did this mod, couldn't rotate mine by hand either.

Just did SE comp & 30T pulley to my 07 FXSTC.

During the whole operation, I couldn't help thinking that it seems like it would be easier to just remove the inner primary, rather than go through the grinding.

Great Job on write up! I did mine on an 2008 Electra Glide Ultra Classic, because of dealer breaking a tooth off. I won't mentioned the dealers name, but I am skeptable of most. I should have installed the improved tensioner, apart we go again!

Improved tensioner needed here too! And Apart we go again, Chattering Chattering Chattering at steady crusing speeds after 25 miles When parts are all heated and swelled up. May also try to add a few holes somewhere to aid lubrication of the moving sliding cam on the shaft splines!
