Default Loud exhaust: I guess it's just not my cup of tea

I pulled my D&D full system off yesterday, and FOR ME, it's a more enjoyable ride. I go to work at all hours of the morning, afternoon and night depending on the day and I like not having to worry about pissing off my neighbors. Plus, on long trips, the loud exhaust causes fatigue. I'm finding it to be much more enjoyable to rack up some miles with the stockers. This is my first HD, and I thought I'd give some loud stuff a try, but it's just not my bag, baby.

Disclaimer: I don't have any problem with anyone else running loud pipes. I actually really like the sound on others' bikes. It just kinda wears me out on my bike.

If anyone's interested, I'm selling my D&D XHP Pro Pipe full system. I'd also be interested in trading for some sort of slip-on that gives a better sound without a lot more noise. Any suggestions? I was thinking some tame Screamin' Eagle slip-ons or something like that.

Here's my f/s thread. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ml#post6533331

If anyone is interested in a trade, let me know.

Anyone else out there prefer the quieter ride? Maybe I'm over the hill at age 31 lol.

Ride safe!

I'm guessing that's gonna be the more popular opinion here!

yeah, I had the V&H Short Shots Staggered and I agree with you, those really loud pipes aren't for me. I bought me the Rinehart 2:1 and deeper but not as loud!! Good luck with the sale.

My screamin eagles are about the loudest pipes I have heard on a bagger. I had to go with downturns on the tips just to mellow out the sound! hehe. but it sounds sweet cruising along.

I use an older model Screamin Eagle slipon that (I think) is louder than the current ones. I also have a pair of Cycle Shack slipons (inexpensive) that are louder than the Screamin Eagles. Depending on my mood I switch these two sets out. I bought my bike with Harley racing pipes that were real loud and the tone just beat me up. I have stock but never use them. I saw a link here where the guy takes stock mufflers and makes them into a tunable set up with different baffles, I can post a link if you want and if I can find it.

I just punched a hole through the stock pipes, actually, knocked out the silver dollar sized plugs. Now it's loud if I get on it, but, subtle otherwise.
I had V&H and some other type and they just didn't work for me.
Maybe I'm just old...
