So I take it these were still too loud?

I have a new set of SEs mufflers that I got with a 110 kit for an 08 Dyna. They are the same ones that I already have on. So I will not be using them. The 02 sensor holes are the only difference in them and the earlier styles. $150 plus ship.

The V&H straight shots are not that loud but after a couple of hours they just got on my nerves. Hard to explain. I love them but can't live with them.

That's exactly how I feel about mine. Not THAT loud, but on a long trip they wear me down. Also I hate the early morning creep through my neighborhood. The plus side is the bike runs great with the PCIII, K&N stage 1 air cleaner and stock pipes though.

Man whatever makes the ride more enjoyable for you. I'm sure someone will take the D&D's off your hands.

Yep me too, love hearing em' with loud pipes, but don't think I would want them on mine. Combination of neighbors, cost/benefit and personal preference. I think my bike sounds great stock, after a thousand miles it really started purring nicely.

I'm in the minority that agrees with the OP. I like the way loud pipes sound on these bikes, but I prefer to ride a quiet bike. I can get on it without attracting a lot of attention and I don't **** off my neighbors. I only wish for loud pipes when I'm at a bike gathering or rally.

How much did they cost you? The cheapest I've seen them is about $294. Do yours have the black end caps on them? I prefer the SE slips-ons on the CVO Fat Bob. They don't have the end caps.
