How do the "legal" mufflers sound compared to original equipment?
I bought the SE air filter set up, and am contemplating the download with my opened up mufflers (then grab a set of SE II slipons if need be) as I have heard the SE II's on youtube and they sound pretty quiet.

I was just at Bayside HD in Portsmouth VA tonight getting my 1K service on my Fat Bob. While I was there, I was checking into pipes and high flow AC. They quoted me $150 for the download and $50 for installation. Seems like almost everyone is consistent on that. Paying for a standard map seems like a ripoff. They make enough on parts and labor. A few years back I had a Yamaha Warrior with a Power Commander and V&H Big Shots. It came with a CD with a bunch of standard maps and I downloaded other maps free from user forums. I eventually had a dyno with a custom map for $300. Can't believe it costs $200 just to get a standard map. ...of course, I did have to buy the PC. I'm probably looking at paying the $200 this time because I don't want to shell out another $400 for a PC. No cheap answer.

The SE 49-State Slip-On Mufflers are not much louder than the stock mufflers in terms of sound level, below 80 db. I believe they have more volume and more bass, so the sound travels farther. I like the sound; it's better than the stock set-up. I wasn't looking for much louder pipes because I have hearing issues, so the SE Slip-Ons were a good option for me.
