SE synthetic = noise
so my bike is 09 96" with about 6000 on it, over the winter with everything else I did I swithed all fluids out to synthetic. now I notice more noise, engine, transmission, when I put down into 1st from nuetral the is a clunk. I just didnt seem to notice this before? whats ya'lls thoughts?

hmm...I always had the clunk but still I didn't notice much difference when I first changed to synthetic (which was SE synthetic) but after changing to Amsoil I noticed my 5th gear whiny noise somewhat diminished and the clutch engages smoother. Not so much a comment on dino vs. synthetic as SE vs. Amsoil I suppose. YMMV.

I use 20w-50 in engine, 75w-90 in the trans and transmission fluid in the chaincase.

Went from conventional to Amsoil at my last change and nothing but good things to say about it. I know it's not the same weight in all holes but I can't tell exactly what was used because I can't find my receipt. I still have a clunk, when cold, from N to 1st but not as bad as before and all other gears are smooth and quiet when shifting, and they weren't before. I hear noises when riding but nothing that sounds unusual or bad.

believe it or not HD recommends that SE stuff for all three holes...and I tried it. But I agree with you and I have gotten better results with the 75W140 for sure. It isn't even really thick and heavy like standard GL4 or whatever.
